Discovery and Genesis students began work on their first music writing project. Using Beethoven’s famous 4 note motif from his 5th Symphony and classroom instruments, students are creating their own 3 part song form compositions (ABA). Next week students will complete their rehearsals and perform their compositions in class. We will then begin to explore the music and traditions associated with winter, New Year and other holiday celebrations from around the world.

During the next trimester Discovery and Genesis students will sing, create, compose, move, play instruments and listen to music. These first few days we have been singing and moving to some new songs. Next week we will begin our first group project. Students will compose a piece of music that is based on Beethoven’s 4 note motif from his 5th Symphony. Students will rehearse and perform their compositions for each other.
